Michael Nestor Audio Engineer
Build & Design
Michael has over 20 years of experience as an audio engineer touring all over the world with live shows. He graduated at the top of his class with a First-Class Honours Degree in Audio Engineering from Middlesex University in London almost 20 years ago. His major project from that course was put in a lifetime archive at the Melbourne Film & Sound Archive in Australia. Michael also has a Certificate in Educational Studies from London University, which he got on a scholarship. He's been a certified Pro Tools operator all the way back since version 6.
While Michael has a studio background, he's primarily worked in live events for the past 20 years. He's toured extensively, mixing shows in all the continental US states and in countries in Europe, Asia, South America, and beyond. Michael has mixed a wide variety of events, from handling audio for world leaders with high security clearance, to off-Broadway theatre in New York City and modern opera in London's West End. He's also mixed live bands and cultural events live to broadcast on networks like MSNBC, Fox 5 NY, RTÉ and China Central TV.
Michael's personal audio control package includes some of the highest-spec compact equipment available, like a dLive with a 128x128 Dante card, Shure Axient with ShowLink, and Apple M3 computers for QLab playback and Pro Tools editing. Everything is cased to fly. He is Dante certified at Level 2 and completed the Software and Systems courses from d&b Audiotechnik at their headquarters in Backnang, Germany. Michael is also Shure Axient Certified. Michael has designed, built, and operated touring rigs using audio software like QLab, Ableton, Pro Tools, Dante, and Wireless Workbench.
